Economical employees give to their communities across Canada with donations totaling $32,500

WATERLOO, ON, Dec. 12, 2018 /CNW/ - This season of giving, Economical employees have selected 13 community-based organizations to receive $2,500 each. The Choose Your Charity program has granted $157,500 since its inception, including this year's total of $32,500, to causes that drive change in the communities where Economical employees live and work.

Choose Your Charity empowers employees from the Economical family of companies in 13 locations to give back to their communities, by nominating deserving local charities that advance the organization's overall giving strategy. Employees then vote on a short list to determine which organizations receive donations, which are delivered this month. Economical's giving strategy focuses on safety and security, youth and education, and health and wellness. It is brought to life through employee donations and volunteering, collaboration with brokers to support their communities, and major partnerships with organizations like The Canadian Red Cross, Junior Achievement Canada, Parachute Canada, and the Canadian Cancer Society.

With Kitchener-Waterloo as home base for Economical's head office for the past 147 years, head office employees show their dedication to the region by annually selecting two local organizations to support through this campaign.
