EcoSynthetix Ranks Tenth on Deloitte's 2012 Technology Fast 500™ Program

BURLINGTON, ON, Nov. 16, 2012 /CNW/ - EcoSynthetix Inc. (TSX: ECO) today announced it has been awarded tenth place on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500™ across North America and second place on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50™ in Canada. The programs rank the 500 technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America and the top 50 Canadian technology companies with the fastest revenue growth rates over a five-year period. EcoSynthetix's increase in revenues of 25,327 percent from 2007 to 2011 resulted in its tenth and second place rankings, respectively. The Company was recognized at an awards ceremony on November 13, 2012, in Toronto.

The Technology Fast 500™ is the latest in a series of industry honours EcoSynthetix has been awarded. Deloitte also named EcoSynthetix a winner of its 2012 Canadian Technology Green 15™, for the second consecutive year, in recognition of its technology that promotes a more efficient use of the earth's resources. Last month John van Leeuwen and Steven Bloembergen, co-founders of EcoSynthetix, won the Ontario Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award in the Cleantech category. The Entrepreneur of the Year winners are chosen based on a number of factors, including their vision, leadership, financial performance and social responsibility.

Technology Fast 500, conducted by Deloitte & Touche LLP, provides a ranking of the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies - both public and private - in North America. Technology Fast 500 award winners are selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2007 to 2011.
In order to be eligible for Technology Fast 500 recognition, companies must own proprietary intellectual property or technology that is sold to customers in products that contribute to a majority of the company's operating revenues. Companies must have base-year operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or CD, and current-year operating revenues of at least $5 million USD or CD. Additionally, companies must be in business for a minimum of five years, and be headquartered within North America.
