Edmonton woman wins $20.6 million with LOTTO 6/49!
WINNIPEG, April 1 /CNW/ - There were no words to describe how Joanne Tsetta felt when she scanned her LOTTO 6/49 ticket for the March 20th draw and saw more digits than she could count. The Edmonton resident was holding one of two winning tickets that split the over-$41 million Jackpot to take home a staggering $20,664,574 each!
Joanne purchased the Quick Pick ticket from Albert's Family Restaurant, located at 5004 - 98th Avenue in Edmonton.
"I thought the Ticket Checker was giving me an error when I scanned my ticket," said Joanne. "I saw this outrageous number and thought at first that I had won $200,000, then maybe $2,000,000." She handed the ticket to the clerk, who validated it for more than $20 Million. "I just said okay, then I rolled the ticket up and put it away. I went about my business, bought what I had come to buy and then I left the store. It just didn't sink in!"
The fact that she was now a millionaire didn't really sink in for a day or two after she checked the ticket. "It wasn't until I was watching the news and they were talking about this 'mystery woman' who had yet to claim the $20 Million Jackpot, and I thought, 'Hey, that's me!'" Joanne laughed.
Joanne said she has many plans for her newfound riches, including buying a new vehicle and providing a better education for her children. "I'm just going to relax and go with the flow. I just want to be happy, and that's all that matters."
