Edward Jones Named One of the Best Workplaces in Canada Five Years in a Row

Edward Jones ranked 8th among companies with more than 1,000 employees

TORONTO, April 13 /CNW/ - The financial-services firm Edward Jones has been named one of Canada's Best Workplaces, and has ranked 8th among companies with more than 1,000 employees in the fifth annual "Best Workplaces in Canada" list by The Globe and Mail in a special report out today. Edward Jones has ranked on this list each year since its inception.

This list of the 75 "Best Workplaces in Canada" is compiled for The Globe and Mail by the Great Place to Work(R) Institute Canada. Two-thirds of the survey is based on how randomly selected associates answer questions related to workplace culture and practices. The remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the firm, including an evaluation of human resources policies and procedures. Organizations are scored in five basic areas: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

Edward Jones also received high marks in The Globe and Mail's Report on Business magazine's "50 Best Employers in Canada." For eight consecutive years, the firm placed in the top 10 each year. In December 2009, Edward Jones ranked No. 10 on the list.
