Edward Jones No. 1 among National Independents on the 2010 Investment
Executive Brokerage Report Card

TORONTO, April 29 /CNW/ - Financial services firm Edward Jones has tied for No. 1 overall in the national independent category in Investment Executive's annual survey of advisors. This is Edward Jones' 13th consecutive year appearing on the list. Since 1998, the firm has received 10 No. 1 rankings and two No. 2 rankings.

The financial services industry publication surveyed 627 randomly selected advisors from the top 15 Canadian brokerage firms. The publication divided the firms into four categories: boutiques, regional independents, national independents (in which Edward Jones was categorized) and bank-owned investment dealers.

In the survey, firms were evaluated on criteria such as support for helping clients accumulate assets for retirement, helping plan for post-retirement income and for developing a financial plan for clients, all of which Edward Jones took top marks. Edward Jones also received top marks in the category of "firm's ethics."

This is one of a few major accolades the firm has received recently. On April 13, Edward Jones appeared on the 75 Best Workplaces in Canada list in The Globe and Mail. On December 30, 2009, Edward Jones was in the No. 10 spot on the "50 Best Employers in Canada" list by The Globe and Mail's Report on Business magazine and La Presse
