TORONTO, March 17, 2014 /CNW/ - Egencia®, the business travel brand of Expedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE), today announced its Chief Technology Officer Sravana Kumar Karnati will discuss Big Data travel trends at GBTA Conference 2014 on March 21 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
Karnati's Big Data presentation will explore the nature of Big Data, how it is processed, and cover use cases involving website data and business travel data as well as the combination of data 1) leisure and business travel 2) travel and expense data and 3) travel and location data. To conclude, Karnati will share who is best positioned to take advantage of Big Data in the travel industry and who will offer the best service to the traveller, travel manager, procurement and C-level executives.
"How data is used to provide important decision support and information is, and will continue to be, a top priority for organizations with business travel a rich area for investigation," says Mark Hollyhead, Egencia's senior vice president of the Americas. "If you look at what's available today then factor in the exponential growth of mobile use cases then you'll appreciate that an ability to navigate this and turn it into future innovation for the industry is a really interesting subject. Sravana will share with GBTA attendees how some of this data can be used, and is being used, by companies and suppliers to personalize service at every state of the trip for a better experience."
During expo hall hours on March 20-21, Egencia will also showcase its travel technology and service solutions at Booth 601 that are used today by the likes of Volvo, IBI Group, exp Global Inc., and Achievers—a sample of Canadian businesses that turned to Egencia in the past 12 months to manage their corporate travel needs.
