Egg Farmers of Canada brightens winter mornings with the natural goodness of eggs
TORONTO, Feb. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - This morning, commuters in major Canadian cities are in for a bright start to their day with Egg Farmers of Canada's (EFC) unique pop up yellow gardens in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Beginning at 7:30 a.m. local time, egg farmers will be distributing egg breakfast sandwiches and potted daffodils to help Canadians wake up to yellow with the natural goodness of eggs.
The majority of Canadians (71%) say they are looking for natural and healthy foods to start their day off right. With six grams of the highest quality protein and fourteen essential vitamins and nutrients, like iron and vitamin A, 88% of Canadians agree that eggs are a natural way to start your day.
"Eggs are one of the few foods considered to be a complete protein. They contain six grams of the highest-quality protein, and fourteen essential vitamins and nutrients, and are always free of added steroids and hormones. Eggs provide the natural goodness that Canadians are looking for at breakfast," says Bonnie Cohen, Director of Marketing and Nutrition at Egg Farmers of Canada. "We wanted to help Canadians wake up to yellow with the natural goodness they need to start their morning off right."
Ninty-two per cent of Canadians say a healthy and balanced diet is the simplest way to maintain health and wellness, with over half finding it more difficult to eat healthy in the winter months.
Start your day with the natural goodness of eggs and share how you wake up to yellow by tweeting, posting or sharing your favourite egg breakfast using the hashtag #WakeUpToYellow.
