Egg Farmers of Ontario announce new director of public affairs

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Egg Farmers of Ontario (EFO) announce the appointment of Bill Mitchell as its director of public affairs.

"We are pleased to have Mitchell joining the egg team," said EFO general manager Harry Pelissero. "He is respected for his more than 20 years of experience in media and government relations working on behalf of Ontario farmers."

Mitchell will be responsible for corporate communications, government relations and public affairs counsel for EFO, Pelissero said.

"This includes responsibility for EFO's wide range of dynamic marketing programs serving consumer, retail, foodservice and health sectors," Pelissero said. "He will be committed to continuing EFO's professional advertising, promotion, websites and education programs designed to maintain and grow egg consumption in the Ontario marketplace."

Pelissero said that Mitchell's farm and media background plus experience in a similar role for 26 years with Dairy Farmers of Ontario positions him ideally to help deliver public affairs programs supporting EFO's vision to provide customers with a supply of high quality eggs at a fair price and a fair return to egg and pullet farmers.

Egg Farmers of Ontario is an association that represents approximately 400 egg farmers and pullet growers in Ontario. It is an independent, self-governing organization funded entirely by egg and pullet farmers.
