"Ekahau Site Survey is widely considered the quickest and easiest Wi-Fi site survey and planning tool on the market. The addition of Auto-Planner continues our mission of providing simple-to-use, enterprise-grade tools for Wi-Fi administrators," said Jussi Kiviniemi, senior product manager at Ekahau. "An earlier version of the Ekahau Site Survey enabled users to cut on-site survey time in half with the introduction of Hybrid Site Survey technology. This latest release of the tool makes the solution even more efficient. With Auto-Planner, we're able to reduce off-site network design time to one-tenth of the time it typically would take. Ekahau Site Survey 5.0 enables users to indicate where Wi-Fi coverage is needed, select the application - such as voice over Wi-Fi - that will be running over the network, and let the Auto-Planner optimize network configuration."
The Auto-Planner in Ekahau Site Survey 5.0 delivers a 3-D network plan, enabling users to visualize the optimal placement of wireless access points in multi-floor environments. This unique capability allows users to maximize network coverage while minimizing the interference and number of Wi-Fi access points needed in a multi-floor building. In addition, the Auto-Planner will optimize networks design for different applications, such as voice over Wi-Fi, location tracking or high-speed data.
Ekahau Site Survey 5.0 also brings more flexibility and granularity to the network planning and site surveys by supporting CAD and vector-based floor plans. Other improvements include performance enhancements, and additional antennas and access points from various Wi-Fi manufacturers. Ekahau Site Survey provides a comprehensive list of Wi-Fi equipment to choose from, including 400 WLAN antennas.
Ekahau Site Survey has been used by more than 10,000 customers worldwide to optimize their enterprise Wi-Fi networks. These customers vary from professional services groups of the world's largest companies to IT administrators at small companies.
Ekahau Site Survey 5.0 will be available in June 2010. Introductory pre-order pricing is available from certified Ekahau channel partners globally. For more information about Ekahau Site Survey, please visit at http://www.ekahau.com/ess.
