TORONTO, Aug. 16, 2012 /CNW/ - The first week of the Kitchener - Waterloo and Vaughan by-election periods conclude today. Nominations open today and close on August 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. The full list of candidates will be available at wemakevotingeasy.ca on August 24.
More than 97,817 qualified voters in Kitchener - Waterloo and more than 125,781 qualified voters in Vaughan whose names are already on the Voters List can expect to get their Notice of Registration Cards in the mail early next week.
Voters who would like to be added to the Voters List or who need to update their contact information can do so in person at their local returning office by showing one piece of identification that includes both name and residential address.
"Whether you choose to vote at an advance poll or on election day, bring your Notice of Registration Card and one piece of identification that includes both name and residential address with you to ensure your voting experience is as easy as possible," said Greg Essensa, Ontario's Chief Electoral Officer.
Voters can also be added to the Voters List when they go to vote at advance polls or on election day. The comprehensive list of acceptable identification documentation can be found online.
