The Government of Canada supports 19th annual MUTEK Festival
MONTRÉAL, Aug. 8, 2018 /CNW/ - The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, today announced $55,000 in funding for the 19th MUTEK Festival, which is taking place in Montréal from August 22 to 26, 2018.
This support is being provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund. Funding of $40,000 will help MUTEK offer audiences Montréal-based electronic music, digital art and original performances that meet the high standards of MUTEK Montréal.
The remaining $15,000 is for Keychange :: Amplify, a special project added this year to support the professional development of female electronic musicians and digital artists.

MUTEK is a non-profit organization that showcases and develops emerging forms of digital audio, music and visual art. Its mandate is to offer a platform where original and visionary artists can raise their profiles and develop their creative vision.
The 19th MUTEK will once again take place in Montréal's Quartier des spectacles, but this year's festival will include, for the very first time, a major outdoor event in the Mile-Ex district.
Keychange :: Amplify, a special project with delegations from Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America, will have a two-day international symposium on women in electronic music and digital art.
