EllisDon Celebrates Top Employer Awards

Company named as one of Canada's best employers in two separate awards

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - EllisDon has been recognized once again as one of the best places to work in Canada, both as rated by its own employees and by a third party independent judging panel, in two separate studies.

On October 18, Aon Hewitt released its annual list, now in its 14th year, of the Top 50 Best Employers in Canada.  Employees from 280 Canadian companies participated in the study for a total of 400,000 people surveyed.  The primary requirement for being awarded the distinction of being a Best Employer is to create and sustain a highly engaged workforce, as this is the key factor that the survey measures.  EllisDon continued its outstanding success in this listing, coming in second this year.  The company has been in one of the top two positions for the last six consecutive years and has won the number one spot a record three times.

On October 10, EllisDon was also named as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for the fourth time.  Also celebrating its 14th anniversary, the Top 100 Employers project is a national competition in which companies are compared to other organizations in their field against eight criteria including community involvement, performance management and benefits.  The Top 100 Employers also runs special-interest competitions for all those who apply for the larger award.  Results for these subsidiary awards will come out in April 2013, but in previous years EllisDon has won for Canada's Greenest Employers and Top Employers for Canadians over 40.
