Elvis takes off from Vancouver Art Gallery
Reminding Vegas-bound Vancouverites that your party starts sooner when you leave from YVR
VANCOUVER, Nov. 23 /CNW/ - More than 600 helium-filled balloons lifted Elvis off the grounds in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery shortly after noon today. The colourful launch marks the beginning of a Las Vegas promotion that encourages local residents to start their party sooner by flying out of YVR.
Passengers flying on either Air Canada or WestJet non-stop from YVR to Las Vegas by December 19 will not only enjoy all the comforts of flying out of North America's top-rated airport, they'll have a free checked bag, in-flight entertainment and ample leg room on board a Canadian airline. They'll also have access to on-site parking for $7.99 a day and special offers and entertainment at Las Vegas departure gates. Passengers should also keep an eye out for The King in the terminal throughout the promotion period.
"We want people to consider flights from YVR when they're escaping from the cold this winter," said Rebecca Catley, Director of Communications, Vancouver Airport Authority. "And when you're heading to Vegas with your friends or special someone, you can get into the party mood right at the airport—a short hassle-free car, limo or Canada Line ride from downtown Vancouver. Get a pedicure, sip a cocktail and relax at the gate. It's all about squeezing the most out of your get-away time."
The public can also enter to win one of two round-trip tickets for two to Las Vegas, provided by Air Canada and WestJet. Details are available at www.yvr.ca.
