Emergency appeal for the Philippines - Victims can count on LÉGER Foundation's rapid response team Français
MONTREAL, Nov. 13, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The LÉGER Foundation Executive Director Norman MacIsaac arrived last night in Tacloban, one of the regions most heavily hit by Typhoon Haiyan. Says Mr. MacIsaac: "The city is a post-apocalyptic scene. The smell of death is everywhere on the roads. Cell phones barely work, if at all."
Based in a sports complex, the LÉGER Foundation team is coordinating aid to victims in collaboration with the Regional Health Authorities.
Two other volunteers will be leaving Montreal shortly to bring additional help to the team already on site.
Marie Denise Pelletier, spokesperson for the LÉGER Foundation throughout the world, is inviting the public to express their solidarity with Philippines victims by making a monetary donation to the LÉGER Foundation, who will ensure proper management.
