VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 14, 2019 /CNW/ -- Eminence Organic Skin Care, a natural, organic and Biodynamic® professional skin care brand, committed to providing organic meals to sick children through the brand's nonprofit organization, the Eminence Kids Foundation, has celebrated their sixth annual 'Soup Night' for pediatric patients.
Three different soups were handmade by volunteers from Eminence Organics on May 7, 2019. Executive Culinary Chef Instructor, Darren Clay oversaw volunteers at Vancouver's Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in cooking over fifty liters each of organic Turkey Chili, Curried Sweet Potato & Red Lentil Soup, and Minestrone Soup.
The volunteers sliced and diced more than 10 kilograms of carrots and 10 kilograms of sweet potatoes amongst many other organic vegetables, and used 80 liters of vegetable stock to create the hearty meals.
Clay enjoyed cooking up a storm with Eminence Kids Foundation volunteers for the second year in a row.
"We love that Eminence Organics brings their team to the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts to prepare healthy, nutritious, organic meals for pediatric patients of British Columbia Children's Hospital," says Clay. "Plus, they enjoy the meal and love the soups we create."
On May 8, 2019, the food was served to pediatric patients undergoing treatment at British Columbia Children's Hospital and their families. The family-style event created a warm atmosphere between patients, families, volunteers and staff members, encouraging bonding and an all-round positive, uplifting environment.
Ayla Kooner, Programs Coordinator at Ronald McDonald House of BC and Yukon, where the soups were served, looks forward to the soup serving event each year, with many families joining to share a meal together.
"The families really appreciate the effort and time the Eminence Kids Foundation puts into providing a night off for the parents from cooking and cleaning, bringing along teddy bears and the support of a community," says Kooner.
'Soup Night' has been a roaring success six years in a row, and was created by Eminence Organics' President, Boldijarre Koronczay, in an effort support the treatment, healing and long-lasting health of the young patients with the nutritional benefits of organic food.
"It's a great bonding experience for the employees at Eminence," says Koronczay. "We've now served more than 80,000 organic meals to date and only hope to continue to grow this number."
Eminence Organics' worldwide customer base also actively supports this effort, with a portion of the proceeds from every Eminence Organic Skin Care product sold donated to the Eminence Kids Foundation.
