Empire Club of Canada to host Ukrainian and Russian Ambassadors to Canada

Speeches on April 4^th and April 22^nd launch special diplomatic series - "The Ambassadors Speak"

TORONTO, March 20, 2014 /CNW/ - The Empire Club of Canada is pleased to announce the launch of a special diplomatic series called The Ambassadors Speak. On April 4^th, Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada, Ambassador Vadym Prystaiko will be the first speaker in the series. The second event will be on April 22^nd featuring remarks from the Russian Federation Ambassador to Canada, Ambassador Georgiy Mamedov. Now in its 110^th season, the Empire Club developed this special diplomatic series to provide its members and guests with timely, topical information on world affairs, with a first-hand perspective from the people directly involved.

"We are very excited that the Ambassadors from both Ukraine and the Russian Federation have chosen the Empire Club to deliver the perspectives of their government," said Noble Chummar, President, The Empire Club of Canada. "We have been the Canadian stage for Churchill, Ghandi, Reagan and Thatcher. This new diplomatic series continues that grand tradition."

Ambassador Prystaiko will speak to the club about the perspective of Ukraine on April 4^th.  On April 22^nd, Ambassador Mamedov will speak about the perspective of the Russian Federation on similar issues, specifically the Ukraine and Crimea. Both luncheon events will be held at the Arcadian Court in Toronto.

Chummar said, "Our audiences tend to be business people, many of whom have interests in foreign markets. The decisions of governments in these markets can have a great impact on the opinions and actions of our members and guests."

Tickets for members are on sale now at $70 each with tables of 10 for $700.  Tickets for non-members go on sale March 24^th at $80 each with tables of 10 for $800.  All tickets are available for purchase online at www.empireclub.org or by calling the offices of the Club.
