Employees from the National Research Council recognized for their contributions to science excellence Français
OTTAWA, Nov. 14, 2017 /CNW/ - Employees from the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) were recognized today for their contributions to the organization's scientific and technological achievements throughout the last year. The event is designed to showcase the employees' impact on strengthening Canada's innovation performance.
"This is a unique opportunity to highlight the amazing talent and dedication we have here at the NRC," said Iain Stewart, President of the National Research Council of Canada. "Our employees' breadth of expertise across disciplines and unique research facilities are what allow us to tackle our nation's grand challenges."
Employees received awards in categories including excellence in research, partnerships, and research and technology breakthrough. Award recipients are peer-nominated and nominations must clearly demonstrate how the nominee or the team's contribution is exceptional and how it benefits stakeholders.
"I commend the tremendous achievements of the employees we are celebrating today," said the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science. "Their hard work leads to knowledge and technologies that help make our world a better place."
As the Government of Canada's premier research organization, the National Research Council supports industrial innovation, the advancement of knowledge and technology development.
