Expands Television Post Production and Visual Effects Presence
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Encore, a Deluxe Entertainment Services Group company, announced today the addition of a new facility in Vancouver, BC, further expanding its established network of post production facilities dedicated to serving television clientele. Current Encore locations include Hollywood and New York as well as sister Deluxe television facility Level 3 in Burbank, California. These facilities share a common network that allows them to share media seamlessly, maximizing efficiency and capacity.
"British Columbia has been a major television production center for many years," says Bill Romeo, Senior Vice President of Television for Deluxe. "In fact, British Columbia is the fourth largest center for film and television production in all of North America. Encore is recognized for having the most robust file-based offering in the television business, and we are thrilled that Encore can now offer clients the combination of our powerful infrastructure as well as the amazing talent pool that we have in place in Vancouver."
Encore is simultaneously expanding its VFX for television services—known for work on shows as FOX/NBC's House, ABC's GCB and Castle, and DreamWorks Television's The River—to Vancouver. The VFX division of Encore in Vancouver brings to the region the top-level visual effects Encore is recognized for providing. The Vancouver VFX division will be headed up by multi-talented visual effects supervisor Ivan Hayden. Hayden brings over 15 years of experience to his role at Encore, most recently having run Warner Bros. Television's in-house visual effects studio for their hit series Supernatural. Hayden, will report to Tom Kendall, VP of VFX for Television at Deluxe.
Encore in Vancouver is conveniently located in a single complex that includes Deluxe's already established post production facility and the local site of Deluxe's feature film and commercial visual effects facility, Method Studios. Encore's Vancouver location is currently working on CULT, a pilot for the CW.
A total of 281 productions were undertaken in British Columbia last year, representing a jump of over 10% from 2010(1) and the trend looks set to continue with nearly twice the number of pilots shooting in the region than this time last year(2). British Columbia also boasts a technical infrastructure for creating high-end VFX and animation work that can compete on an equal footing with any region in the world(3).
