End of the lock-out at the Peterborough's Genpak plant
PETERBOROUGH, ON, Sept. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - The 38 employees of the Genpak packaging plant in Peterborough will go back to work after the members of Local 685 of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) overwhelmingly accepted the terms of a new collective agreement today.
"We are relieved that the conflict is finally resolved, allowing our members to go back to work," says Kim Ginter CEP's Administrative Vice-President for Ontario.
Following the resolution of the conflict, a demonstration by the Genpak workers, originally scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, is cancelled.
