MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 16, 2012 /CNW/ - Energizer Canada is initiating a voluntary market withdrawal of three additional products from store shelves:

There have been no reported incidents with these products.
Due to Energizer Canada's commitment to customer safety, the company has expanded its previous voluntary market withdrawal to include all Banana Boat "bag on valve" (the technology inside the can used to dispense the product) continuous spray alcohol-based products with a certain valve size opening. The sunscreen formula itself is safe and effective for use, however, the spray valve opening on the affected products dispenses more than is typical in the industry for continuous sun care sprays. Energizer Canada has chosen to be proactive and withdraw these three products that share the same spray valve mechanism as those products that were previously announced as being withdrawn.
"Consumer safety is Energizer Canada's number one priority. There have been no reported safety issues with the three Banana Boat products, but we are removing them and we will be resupplying retailers with new products," says James MacIntosh, General Manager, Energizer Personal Care.
Previously, Energizer Canada had announced the voluntary market withdrawal of the Banana Boat Ultra Defense SPF 60 Spray Sunscreen (180mL) and the Banana Boat Sport Performance SPF 60 Spray Sunscreen (180mL) because of a potential safety concern associated with the product delivery system. The remaining Banana Boat sunscreen product line is not affected and is still available.

These over-the-counter products were distributed nationwide to wholesalers and retailers from January of 2010 through September 30, 2012.
