SAINTE-JULIE, QC, June 13 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Once again this summer, Hydro-Québec's electricity interpretation centre will be offering stimulating—and free!—activities for budding scientists. The Électrium's summer program features the famous science initiation workshops run by Profaqua, the science popularization experts, as well as guided tours of the interpretation centre.
To celebrate the Électrium's 25th anniversary, visitors will also have the chance to win a trip for four to Baie-James on the weekend of September 10 and 11, 2016! Contest rules.
Hooray for Mondays! Science initiation workshops
For a fourth summer, Profaqua will be on site every Monday from June 27 to August 22 inclusive. Every week, children ages six and up can participate in a different workshop that will include surprising experiments and educational games—all specially designed to make them laugh and think. There will be something for everyone, including themes on plants, insects, dinosaurs, fossils, magic and much more!
For more information on the programming or to reserve (places are limited), contact the Électrium team at 1 800 267-4558, or visit www.hydroquebec.com/visit. Note that workshops will be held in French only.
A passion for electricity
The summer holidays are also an excellent opportunity to explore the world of electricity with an experienced tour guide. You will discover how electricity shows up in nature, both in physical and magnetic phenomena, and how electricity is generated in Québec.
