Enersource Receives Industry Performance Excellence Award

MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 9, 2015 /CNW/ - The Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) has recognized Enersource Corporation as an exceptional leader in the industry, presenting the utility with the EDA's Performance Excellence Award.

This prestigious award recognizes electricity distribution companies that achieve excellent results across a broad range of performance outcomes in the industry, including: occupational health and safety; operational excellence; financial operations; retail strategies for conservation and demand management; and contributions to the community.

The Enersource submission highlighted how the Mississauga-based utility excelled in each of these areas, including:

• its overall commitment to occupational health and safety, which helped staff reach 2-million employee hours worked without a lost-time injury;
• being ranked in the Ontario Energy Board's Efficiency Assessment as one of the most efficient large utilities in the province;
• achieving exceptional reliability performance;
• receiving outstanding marks in customer satisfaction, including a 96% approval rating among large commercial and industrial customers; and,
• the delivery of an innovative electronic billing campaign that helped restore the local tree canopy after the 2013 Ice Storm, while also reducing paper waste from printed bills.
