CALGARY, May 7, 2020 /CNW/ - On March 31, 2020, Michael Francis O'Brien filed an Amended Notice of Appeal with the Alberta Securities Commission, seeking an appeal of two IIROC Hearing Panel decisions, dated December 31, 2019 and March 26, 2020.

In March 2020, an IIROC Hearing Panel imposed the following penalty on Michael Francis O'Brien:
a) A fine in the amount of $100,000;
b) A two year suspension;
c) A period of strict supervision for 18 months upon re-entry; and
d) A successful rewrite of the Conduct and Practices Handbook exam, before returning to work.
Mr. O'Brien is required to pay costs in the amount of $20,000.
