Engineering for Gun Control: Engineering associations and institutions join their voices to Polytechnique students and alumni Français
MONTREAL, Nov. 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - It's at the École Polytechnique in Montreal, the place where fourteen young women were gunned down and thirteen others were injured with a legally acquired firearm, that the students who witnessed the tragedy gathered once again, twenty-five years later.
However this time, their efforts to fight for gun control are supported by an array of engineering institutions and organizations, including the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (the Quebec order of engineers), the École Polytechnique, the École de technologie supérieure, the Réseau des ingénieurs du Québec (Quebec network of engineers), Quebec Confederation for Engineering Student Outreach (QCESO) and several engineering student associations.
