Enjoy drinks during movies at Carlton Cinema
TORONTO, Jan. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - The Carlton has achieved the unique distinction of being the first cinema in Ontario to be fully licenced for liquor service throughout all lounge areas and auditoriums.
Much like a concert hall or opera house, Magic Lantern Carlton Cinema now provides the option of enjoying alcoholic beverages while watching films. The only exceptions will be in auditoriums showing G-rated family films, which will be designated as "dry zones" during the run of such engagements.
The Carlton Bar serves a selection of beers, wines as well as mixed drinks in addition to standard cinema concession items.
With 9 auditoriums, "The Carlton", as it is popularly known, showcases a wide variety of independent film from Canadian to foreign and Hollywood fare.
Since re-opening in the summer of 2010, The Carlton has also become home to many films festivals from around the world. Festival organizers, who frequently host receptions during screenings of films, will be particularly pleased with the added amenity of The Carlton Bar.
The Carlton Cinema is affiliated with Magic Lantern Theatres, which is a community-based Canadian Exhibition Company, established in 1980. The company currently operates 16 cinema locations across Canada with a total of 87 screens.
