Enterprise Holdings Takes Home Travvy Awards For "Best Fleet" and "Best International Car Rental Company"
ST. LOUIS, Jan. 13, 2016 /CNW/ -- Enterprise Holdings Inc. swept this year's Travvy Awards car rental categories, not only being named as the "Best International Car Rental Company" but also honored for "Best Fleet."
Enterprise Holdings operates – through its regional subsidiaries and independent franchises – the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands in more than 75 countries and territories, including North America, Central America, South America, the Caribbean and Europe, as well as parts of Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Presented by travAlliancemedia, the Travvy Awards recognize travel and tourism companies, products, agencies and bureaus that embody the highest standards of excellence. Recipients are selected based on voting from more than 39,000 travel agents who cast their ballots for the best of the best within the travel industry.
"It's always an honor to be recognized by professional travel agents," said Greg Stubblefield, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President for Enterprise Holdings Inc., who also received a Travvy Award last year as the Most Innovative Car Rental Executive. "No one understands the travel industry better."
Global Leadership
Enterprise Holdings is the world's largest car rental service provider as measured by revenue, employees and fleet. The company also ranks near the top of the global travel industry, ahead of many airlines and most cruise lines, hotels, tour operators and online travel agencies.
In 2011, Enterprise's European operations included only the UK, Ireland and Germany. Today, the company's three-brand European network covers more than 1,100 neighborhood branch offices and more than 200 airport locations in more than 35 countries. It also includes an extensive fleet of more than 170,000 vehicles, all resulting from thoughtful acquisitions and franchise partnerships with carefully selected car rental companies that share Enterprise's commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Enterprise Holdings also has significantly expanded into key international markets beyond Europe. Last year, the company announced that the Enterprise, National and Alamo brands would become operational at all major Australian airports, including the international gateways of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as well as in key city centers. New Zealand operations will come online later this year. In addition, the Alamo and National brands operate in more than two dozen countries and territories throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Exceptional Fleet
Through its regional subsidiaries, Enterprise Holdings operates the largest fleet of vehicles in the world – more than 1.7 million. As part of its commitment to exceeding customer expectations, Enterprise Holdings operates one of the U.S. car rental industry's newest fleets and provides late-model, well-maintained vehicles with an average odometer reading of less than 16,000 miles and an age of eight months.
The company's robust fleet provides customers access to the latest alternative vehicle technologies, and in turn, gives automotive manufacturers an opportunity to expose consumers to their newest features by putting drivers in the latest vehicles to test them out in the marketplace.
In addition, Enterprise Holdings offers customers a wide array of luxurious driving experiences through the Exotic Car Collection by Enterprise and National's Premier Selection. The Exotic Car Collection continues to expand in new markets across the country, providing access to one of the largest selections of premium luxury vehicle rentals from manufacturers around the world, including Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Bentley, Range Rover and more. National Car Rental customers can also select high-end car rentals at roughly 25 airport locations through the brand's Premier Selection – a special section of the rental lot where drivers can choose such upscale nameplates as the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator or Lexus IS250.
