Enterprising Women Magazine Recognizes President of Canadian - Women-Owned Companies, National Brokers Insurance Services Inc. & Monarch Intermediaries Inc.
Joyce Usher-Mesiano to be honored with 2013 Enterprising Women of the Year Award
MISSISSAUGA, ON, March 6, 2013 /CNW/ - Enterprising Women, a women-owned publication focused on women entrepreneurs announced that it had selected Joyce Usher-Mesiano, President of National Brokers Insurance Services Inc. and President of Monarch Intermediaries Inc., to receive the Enterprising Women of the Year Award for 2013. Winners will be recognized at the 11th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration on April 3 and 4 at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards, which recognize the finest women entrepreneurs in North America and beyond, is widely considered one of the most prestigious recognition programs for women business owners. Nominees are judged based upon: 1) the revenue growth of their company; 2) the leadership they have exhibited in their local communities and/or at the state, national or international levels; and 3) the ways in which they have given back to the community.
National Brokers Insurance Services Inc. has established a reputation for challenging status quo to offer superior insurance products, expertise, strategic advice, exceptional service and a competitive advantage while managing clients' risk exposures. Joyce notes that being 'a full service brokerage' is seen as the single biggest advantage. This entails the organizational culture which embraces rapid decision making, responsiveness and flexibility. Joyce has grown National Brokers Insurance into a highly respected brokerage, working with insurers to provide clients with superior products and services. 'Protector Solution' is a specialized process the company developed to help clients assess both their assets and liabilities, and create a workable blueprint for a more protected and profitable enterprise.
Monarch Intermediaries Inc. offers individual patients, employees of businesses and customers of insurers and financial institutions quick and easy access to second opinions from the world renowned medical professionals and top academic healthcare institutions. "Despite Canada`s exceptional medical system, individuals diagnosed with critical or life-threatening illnesses may face significant delays and challenges in securing second opinion medical reports verifying their diagnosis, prognosis and most effective treatment plan," says Joyce Usher-Mesiano.
Usher-Mesiano launched Monarch after her own sister's battle with cancer was influenced by a second opinion. "Getting a second opinion changed her sister's diagnosis and treatment," she says. "While treatments here in Canada were not working for her, after the second opinion, we completed additional tests in the U.S. and arrangements were then made for a trial drug to be used here in Canada".
Monarch is revolutionizing the health and medical industry, bringing the future of e-medicine to new levels, by improving the accessibility and standard of healthcare worldwide. Monarch enables individuals and their family members to have the opportunity to explore all healthcare options available to them, when a life-threatening condition/illness arises. Importantly, adds Usher-Mesiano, Monarch's Second Opinion "does not exclude coverage for individuals with pre-existing conditions or illnesses".
"The Enterprising Women of the Year Class of 2013 Award is an incredible honour and I am delighted to represent Canada on the winners list," said Usher-Mesiano.
Joyce is passionate about her vision, direction and community. She is a member of the Women Presidents' Organization, Selected member of United Succes, WEConnect International Certified, Canadian Risk Manager, a member of DWEN, Chair of the Waterloo Insurance Advisory Council, a member of the National Council for Economical Insurance, a committee member of the Toronto Construction Association, a past board member of the Toronto Educational Opportunity Fund, recipient of the Vaughan Volunteer Recognition Award, a member of school parent council and works along with various education and charitable organizations including cancer, community hospice and ALS.
