OTTAWA, Jan. 2, 2014 /CNW/ - The Canadian Association of Journalists is pleased to announce entries are now being accepted for the 2013 CAJ Awards program, featuring Canada's top investigative journalism award, the Don McGillivray Award.
The deadline for entries is Jan. 31.
Full information on how to enter the CAJ Awards, including entry forms to submit entries by mail is now posted on the Awards section of our website. The deadline for the Student Award of Excellence is Feb. 28, 2014.
New for this year is a revised fee structure along with revisions to existing categories and the addition of an online-only investigative category. The CAJ has extended its relationship Better BNC, a website through which online submission of all entries will be handled. Instructions on how to submit entries are available through the CAJ website.
"The CAJ awards program allows us to celebrate the best in Canadian journalism across all media," CAJ president Hugo Rodrigues said. "The changes to our categories and the addition of a new one demonstrates our efforts to adapt to the journalism being produced across our country."
The CAJ Awards finalists will be announced in late March or early April, with the winners announced at the 2014 CAJ conference banquet and awards gala, scheduled for May 9-10, 2014, in Vancouver.
The CAJ is Canada's largest national professional organization for journalists from all media, representing over 600 members across the country. The CAJ's primary roles are to provide public-interest advocacy and high-quality professional development for its members.
