OTTAWA, Jan. 9, 2015 /CNW/ - The Canadian Association of Journalists is pleased to announce entries are now being accepted for the 2014 CAJ Awards program, featuring Canada's top investigative journalism award, the Don McGillivray Award.
The deadline for entries is Feb. 9.

New for this year is a change in online submission system. We hope those submitting entries find this system easier to navigate. Among the advantages of the new system include the ability to upload video and audio files (in addition to text and image files) as well as web links. The entry system is also better integrated into the overall look and feel of the CAJ website.
Entry fees for the 2014 program remain unchanged from last year, starting at $30 for individual entries from CAJ members. Members always get the best rates and those considering an entry are encouraged to become a CAJ member as part of entering the awards.
"The annual CAJ Awards program allows journalists to submit their best work from 2014 and have it stand against entries from across all Canadian media in any format," CAJ president Hugo Rodrigues said. "Be it in our longstanding investigative categories or those recognizing general excellence, presenting these awards as recognition of the best of Canadian journalism of the past calendar year is one of the most rewarding programs offered by our association."
The CAJ Awards finalists will be announced by the end of April, with the winners announced at the 2015 CAJ conference banquet and awards gala, scheduled for June 5-6 in Halifax.
The CAJ is Canada's largest national professional organization for journalists from all media, representing over 600 members across the country. The CAJ's primary roles are to provide public-interest advocacy and high-quality professional development for its members.
