Entrust Enhances Japanese Presence with new Website for SSL Certificates
New offering supported by local Japanese sales, verification and support services
DALLAS, June 26, 2012 /CNW/ - Entrust, Inc., a global leader in securing online identities and information, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Entrust Japan Co., Ltd., is launching a new Japanese language website to streamline access to its Entrust Certificate Service. This move will better serve customer requests from local companies and global subsidiaries, which have recently surged in Japan. After a thorough verification process, SSL and other electronic certificates can be obtained through the convenience of credit card purchase. The all inclusive site will enable customers to purchase organization validation, as well as extended validation SSL certificates.
"Entrust has played a key role in the Japanese IT security industry for almost 15 years," said Entrust President and CEO Bill Conner. "We are excited to expand with a comprehensive SSL web offering, as well as offer localized verification and support services for the Japanese market. With this new tool, we will enhance our ability to deliver secure and reliable SSL certificates that meet the needs of a cross section of industries and companies throughout the country and region."
In addition to direct sales, ECS will also be utilized by a network of local distribution partners. To ensure high quality customer service, all verification and support will be conducted by Entrust experts in Japan. Since 2000, ECS has issued electronic certificates based on stringent standards of operation and management, serving governments, financial institutions, healthcare organizations and enterprises. Its user-friendly dashboard reduces total cost of ownership by allowing all certificates to be centrally managed and efficiently issued after validation.
"Entrust's market position as the number two provider of SSL can be summarized by a single statement, 'exceptional product, service and value,'" said David Rockvam, Entrust VP of SSL and CMO. "We take great pride in serving customers from the point of sale through verification and support. Plus, we provide a great value compared to our competitors. That is why Entrust is out pacing competitors at double the market growth rate."
The Japanese SSL market is the third largest market globally, with the U.S. and U.K. ranked first and second respectively. Entrust's position as the second foremost global provider of SSL certificates places the company in a unique position to expand their presence in the Japanese market.
Entrust is a pioneer in SSL and presides as chair of the Certification Authority/Browser Forum. Entrust was also the first CA to meet the standards set forth by WebTrust for CAs in 2001, and again for extended validation (EV) SSL certificates in 2007.
