Entry Island-Cap-aux-Meules crossing - Crossing on Sundays and third trip on Fridays: pilot project resumes on June 21 Français
QUEBEC CITY, June 18, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) is pleased to announce that the pilot project to improve the service at Entry Island–Cap-aux-Meules ferry crossing that began last fall will resume from June 21 to September 1, which will result in the addition of a trip on Sundays and a third trip on Fridays.
Sundays departures will be at 7:30 am from Cap-aux-Meules and 9 am from Entry Island. Fridays additional trip will leave at 12:30 from Cap-aux-Meules, with an immediate return trip.
This service improvement aims to meet the needs expressed by the population. The first phase of the pilot project took place in October, November and December, 2018.
At the end of this second phase, STQ will analyse the results in terms of ridership and operational impacts.
Reservations required
Note: Exceptionally and for the duration of the pilot project, all customers must reserve their crossing before 3:00 pm the previous day for the Sunday departures and for the additional trip on Friday. Reservations: 418 986-3278 or 1 888 986-3278.
Crossings will be cancelled if no reservation was made by the cut-off time.
Also note: when a round trip is added on Friday, there will be no waiting time of 30 minutes between the arrival of the MV Ivan-Quinn on Entry Island and her departure to Cap-aux-Meules.
Friday deliveries: changes
For the duration of the pilot project, it will no longer be possible to send or receive deliveries via the 3:00 pm crossing on Fridays when the 12:30 pm crossing is made. Only basic goods deliveries will be allowed on this crossing.
However, if no reservation was made and the 12:30 departure does not take place, deliveries will be accepted for all crossings, as is currently the case.
