Environmental Defence is Inspiring Change with a New Brand and Website

Organization marks a new era of inspiring Canadians to work towards a
greener, more prosperous world for our children

TORONTO, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - After 25 years of environmental leadership in Canada, Environmental Defence is proud to launch a new brand and website today. Its new tagline, "Inspiring Change", reflects the sharp focus Environmental Defence has always had on creating lasting change: from getting the hormone-disrupting chemical bisphenol A out of Canadian baby bottles, to creating the world's largest Greenbelt, to leading the campaign for what Al Gore has called the most effective renewable energy law in North America: Ontario's Green Energy Act.

"I love our new tag line: Inspiring Change," says Bob Davies, President and Chair of  Environmental Defence, "because it speaks so positively about how our organization is a leader in protecting the environment and human health, creating important progress for Canadians, and bringing hope and optimism to our ever-changing world."

Environmental Defence's work has always been about connecting people with environmental issues that affect their daily lives in their homes, workplaces and neighbourhoods. This is reflected in the organization's fresh, new logo of a stylized tree encircled in red, reminiscent of the Canadian flag. The logo expresses hope for a greener future, and reminds us of how many people's passion for environmental protection is sparked at a young age through the trees in their backyards, school grounds, parks and camping trips.

The new Environmental Defence website, www.environmentaldefence.ca, will serve as its hub for organizing on the web. It will provide Canadians with information and opportunities to take action and inspire change for themselves.
