ERIC McCORMACK, DIVINE BROWN, KRISTEEN VON HAGEN AND THE "NEW DOROTHY" join "It's Always Something" Variety Show line-up for Gilda's Club, Presented by The Keg Steakhouse & Bar
TORONTO, Nov. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Emmy Award-winning actor Eric McCormack, R&B star Divine Brown, comedian Kristeen von Hagen, and Danielle Wade, the "New Dorothy" are the latest talent to join the star-studded line-up at "It's Always Something", Presented by The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, an evening of comedy, music and dance in support of Gilda's Club Greater Toronto, taking place on Saturday, November 17th at The Sony Centre for The Performing Arts.
McCormack, known to millions for his award-winning stint on TV's "Will & Grace", is now starring in the new TNT/Bravo series "Perception". Juno Award-winning R&B and soul singer Divine Brown brings her five-octave vocal range back to "It's Always Something" to mark the release of her third album, "Something Fresh". Former Canadian Comedy Awards "Best Female Stand-up" von Hagen makes her "It's Always Something" debut as does Danielle Wade, from La Salle, Ontario, just voted the "new Dorothy" for the upcoming Mirvish and Andrew Lloyd Webber production of "The Wizard of Oz".
These latest additions join an already powerful line-up of stars all donating their talents to Gilda's Club Greater Toronto, a cancer care centre providing free social and emotional support programs for kids, teens and adults, helping them, and their families, live with a cancer diagnosis in their lives.
Back for a sixth year as host is Russell Peters, to be joined by previously announced talent such as superstar singer Nelly Furtado, iconic band 'Glass Tiger', Broadway star Louise Pitre, Gemini Award winning comedian Ron James, recent Juno Award nominee as 'Best New Artist', Lindi Ortega, singer-songwriter Dylan Murray, and, to astound the audience, the internationally famous Cirque Sublime, making "It's Always Something" one of the must-attend entertainment events of the year.
All proceeds from "It's Always Something" go to support Gilda's Club Greater Toronto, named after famed Saturday Night Live comedian Gilda Radner. Over its 10 years, the show has raised close to four million dollars to fulfill Gilda's wish that "no one should face cancer alone."
