The tropical escapade continues at the Biodôme, where the youngest family members can have great fun with their friend the capybara.
A flurry of family activities during the holidays at Montréal Space for Life
- Under the Palms and Banana Trees at the Botanical Garden – From December 17 to January 8
Ah! The warmth, the fine sand, the parasols, the pink flamingos, the lush greenery… You're bound to feel like you're on vacation as soon as you arrive to celebrate the holidays. The relaxing ambience in the Main Exhibition Greenhouse, the tropical fragrances and music all beckon the whole family to discover some larger-than-life tropical fruit. The artistic designer for events at the Botanical Garden, Émilie Tanguay-Pelchat, has gone all out to create the perfect illusion! And while you and your family are relaxing and enjoying yourselves, you can try to spot the little green monkeys hiding. Who has the sharpest eyes? - Tropical Adventure au Biodôme – From December 17 to February 5
Commander Macaw invites the whole family to embark on a Tropical Adventure. The youngest kids will find a new friend in Capy's Big Day, a puppet show that tells the story of the little capybara's ambitious dream. Author, director, designer and scriptwriter Valérie Galarneau, who has always been a great fan of children's literature, was inspired by the animals at the Biodôme. At the "Beaks and Bandaids" rescue centre, kids can have fun exploring, dressing up and pretending to be veterinarians. Can you guess which animal will be most popular? They can pursue their exploration all along the pathway through the ecosystems, looking for the stars of the show and all the other residents at the Biodôme.
On December 26, come celebrate Christmas for the Animals and watch them ripping open their presents!
The family exploration mission continues at the other Montréal Space for Life attractions. Head off in search of the origins of the Universe with We Are Stars and continue your expedition with a journey to the Red Planet in One Day... on Mars, two immersive shows presented as a double feature at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. And have you ever wondered what happens to Insects in Winter? Find out at the Insectarium, kids' favourite museum.
To avoid the lineups, you can buy your tickets online on our website, montrealspaceforlife.ca. Multi-site packages are a great way to visit more than one attraction at your own pace. It's a great way to extend the fun throughout the holidays!
Montréal Space for Life is made up of four attractions on the same site: the Biodôme, Botanical Garden, Insectarium and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. These four prestigious municipal institutions form Canada's largest natural science museum complex. Together, they are launching a daring, creative urban movement, urging everyone to rethink the connection between humankind and nature and cultivate a new way of living.
