Aug. 23, 2018, EDMONTON /CNW/ - On August 22, 2018, at approximately 7:50 p.m., inmate Samantha Estelle Towedo escaped from Edmonton Institution for Women, a multi-level federal institution, by climbing a fence.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Edmonton Police Service and a warrant for her arrest has been issued.
Samantha Estelle Towedo is 34 years old, measures 167 cm (5' 6") in height and weighs 64 kgs (141 lbs.). She has a medium complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. She has a scar on her left forearm and tattoos on her eyes, lower back, right calf, left thumb and left forearm. She is currently serving a 2 year sentence for Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Harm, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest and Fraud Under $5000.
Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Samantha Estelle Towedo is asked to contact police.
CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.
CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
