Espace C2 takes top honours for Event Spaces at AHEAD Americas Awards 2018
Sid Lee Architecture wins with a unique Montréal venue that sits atop the historic Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel and is now in the running for the AHEAD global biennale
MONTRÉAL, June 26, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Espace C2, designed by Sid Lee Architecture, took home the grand prize in the Event Spaces category at the AHEAD Americas Awards 2018 on Tuesday, June 12 at the Faena Forum in Miami, Florida. The conference venue crowns Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth hotel in Montréal, Canada and offers collaborator C2 Montréal's customized experience catalogue in its highly technological event space that allows for flexible configurations. Espace C2 is now in the running for the AHEAD global biennale.
As part of the major transformation of Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth by owner Ivanhoé Cambridge, Sid Lee Architecture's designed Espace C2 on the roof of the iconic hotel. With a total surface area of 13,000 square feet and a capacity of up to 220 guests, the space offers an architecturally unique option for conference hosting and is poised to become a breeding ground for exchanging knowledge and ideas, all the while highlighting the breathtaking views on Montreal's vibrant downtown core and stunning skyline.

In line with the city's pulse and the C2 ethos, the space has the added benefit of not only adapting to client needs but creatively adding to them through C2's signature activities. Occupying one wing of the uppermost floor and the hotel's rooftop terrace, Espace C2 offers a novel experience in the historic building and acts as a new business campus for Montrealers and an international clientele.
The C2 Experience
The venue offers hosts the possibility of adding options such as C2's immersive experiences to their booking packages. Guests are guided in developing a unique program that will creatively address the challenges facing their businesses. Fresh perspectives are offered in the space, such as talks from thought leaders in a variety of fields, collaborative workshops and masterclasses with renowned experts, atypical brainstorming sessions called labs, and one-on-one sessions.
The project was made possible through collaboration between Sid Lee Architecture inc., Ivanhoé Cambridge, C2 Montréal, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and Pomerleau.

Espace C2 was conceptualized in the wake of major renovations on the hotel Fairmont Queen Elizabeth. Imagined by Sid Lee Architecture and Ivanhoé Cambridge, and built in collaboration with the construction company Pomerleau, Espace C2 is a unique space in Montreal, located at the 21st floor of the hotel.
