SAINT-LAMBERT, QC, Nov. 25, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The first Espace Ricardo boutique is now open at 310 d'Arran Street in Saint-Lambert.
"2014 was an important year for Ricardo Media and it's finishing up with the realization of another dream," explains Ricardo. "I have wanted to create a space like this for a long time, a window on the Ricardo brand image that presents not only what we love but also who we are."
What does Espace Ricardo offer? It's the complete world of Ricardo: an immersion in the magazine, in his recipes, it's the place that foodies have dreamed of. Accessories from the Ricardo collection are found under the same roof as other favourites, along with kitchen decor, tableware and much more. "When people visit us, they will find the accessories, the kitchenware and decor elements that are showcased in the pages of our magazines—all under the same roof. And yes, sometimes we will give out in-store samples of our latest culinary creations!" says Ricardo.
Ricardo launches Mama Choka
The opening of Espace Ricardo is also the perfect time to launch Mama Choka, a "chocolaterie" managed by none other than Ricardo Kitchen Director Kareen Grondin. "Kareen has always been a huge fan of chocolate, desserts and pastries. She dreamed of opening her own chocolate shop before turning 40, and we decided to actively participate in her dream," says Brigitte Coutu, President of Ricardo Media. "Our employees are go-getters, and it's only normal, not to mention extraordinarily gratifying, to use our expertise to propel our rising talents," adds Ricardo.
"Mama Choka represents everything I love about chocolate, caramel and candy: the pleasure of spoiling oneself, of indulging one's sweet tooth guilt-free," explains Kareen. "I have developed each of my products using fresh ingredients so that the taste is authentic and delicious. No, my products do not keep for six months in the refrigerator. Anyhow, it's impossible to resist them for so long!" she concludes.
Mama Choka is a store within Espace Ricardo that offers chocolate, caramel, cotton candy, popcorn, nuts, marshmallows and a variety of chocolate bars.
Espace Ricardo has created over 20 new jobs in Saint-Lambert, including opportunities for young workers who will be teamed up with more experienced employees. "For us, it's an investment in the local economy," says Ricardo.
The Espace Ricardo opening hours are:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, from 10 am to 6 pm
Thursday and Friday, from 10 am to 9 pm
Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday, from noon to 5 pm
