<p>NEW YORK, <span class="xn-chron">Sept. 21</span> /CNW/ -- Espirito Santo Investment (Banco Espirito Santo de Investimento, S.A.), a leading Portuguese investment bank, today announced that <span class="xn-person">Thomas Friebel</span> has joined their team as a Managing Director.  He will be reporting to Moses Dodo, General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors of the Firm.</p>
<p/>
<p>In this position, Friebel will be responsible for the primary and secondary distribution of syndicated loans and structured loan products. He will work closely with the Firm's origination units to expand Espirito Santo's placement and distribution capabilities in the U.S., <span class="xn-location">Canada</span>, and Latin America.</p>
<p/>
<p>Prior to joining Espirito Santo Investment, Friebel served as a Managing Director at WestLB, where he led WestLB's placement efforts in Latin America. During his tenure, the bank developed into one of the premiere centers of competence in the Latin American structured debt markets with an emphasis on arranging, executing and distributing structured financing solutions to support its clients' businesses in the region.</p>
