TORONTO, Nov. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Combining the substantial clout of its dominant website with the popularity of its nightly broadcasts, ET Canada tonight launched an extraordinary music series that opens the doors to one of the music world's best kept secrets: The Orange Lounge Recording Studio in Toronto. Debuting with one of the nation's biggest bands, ET Canada With Hedley At The Orange Lounge, sets the perfect tone for this monthly series which offers astonishingly candid and intimate interviews with some of the world's most intriguing musicians before culminating with a rare, raw and emotional performance of fans' favorite tracks.
Hooking up to ET Canada With (your favourite artist) At The Orange Lounge is easy. Music fans can get a taste of each interview and recording session during one of ET Canada's nightly broadcasts. Then, for a more intense and in-depth experience, viewers are encouraged to visit ETCanada.com where they'll discover an extended version of the same session that also includes behind-the-scenes footage. "ET Canada continues to be a huge supporter of the Canadian music industry and we're so proud to be able to provide viewers with exclusive access to some of today's biggest musical acts as well as a behind-the-scenes look at one of the industry's hidden treasures, the Orange Lounge Studio, which has opened its doors to superstars like Drake, Madonna, Amy Winehouse, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber," said Sholeh Fabbri, Executive Producer, ET Canada.
A joint project of Toronto's legendary Orange Lounge and Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company, tonight's featured artist is Canada's multiplatinum hit-makers, Hedley, who chatted with Rick Campanelli (@RCampanelliETC) about the band's acclaimed new album Wild Life, Jacob Hoggard's upcoming 30th birthday, the pressure to perform their best at The Orange Lounge and what they'd be doing if they weren't making music. Other Universal artists available tonight on ETCanada.com include Ellie Goulding, Lights and Two Door Cinema Club with Lorde's powerful performance being released in the upcoming weeks.
Fabbri is particularly pleased with how fans will experience the music series online. "The new website is the perfect digital destination for extended interactions. Re-launched this past September, ETCanada.com now boasts a responsive design for all devices so users can stay up to date with breaking entertainment news wherever they are," adds Fabbri.
The resulting increase in traffic for ETCanada.com has been dramatic indeed. Since the upgrade just over two months ago, page views have increased by 820% -- from just over 542,000 to well over 4.9 million. Unique visitors also experienced a substantial jump with a spike of 112%.
