ETFO Seeks Intervener Status In OSSTF PDT Challenge
TORONTO, April 19, 2012 /CNW/ - The Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF) has announced that it will be filing a legal challenge with the Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) this week regarding issues related to the collective bargaining process.
ETFO has instructed its legal counsel to seek intervener standing in the OSSTF application to the OLRB to ensure that the rights of ETFO members are before the OLRB, and to support our education colleagues. Intervener standing in an OLRB complaint allows ETFO to be added as a party to the complaint to defend the interests of its members, who may be affected by the result of the complaint.
ETFO continues to consider other legal challenges that might be pursued to protect the rights of ETFO members.
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario represents 76,000 elementary public school teachers and education professionals across the province and is the largest teacher federation in Canada.
