ETFO to Unveil New Research on Teachers' Concerns re: EQAO
EQAO Testing a Highlight of President's Address to ETFO's 2010 Annual Meeting
TORONTO, Aug. 15 /CNW/ - Sam Hammond, President of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO), will unveil new research and a video documenting the serious concerns that elementary teachers have towards the province's Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) testing, this Monday, August 16th at ETFO's 2010 Annual Meeting.
The Federation, which has continued to raise concerns about EQAO testing and its impact on education, commissioned Environics Research Group to convene focus groups of teachers across the province to probe their experience with EQAO testing. In his opening address, Hammond will screen a new video that documents the serious issues that teachers and their students are facing because of the EQAO initiative.

Following his address, Hammond will be available to speak to the media. More than 500 public elementary school teachers have gathered in Toronto this week to debate and set policies and directions for the Federation.
