Event Advisory - Codename Sally documentary screening at Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema
TORONTO, Nov. 21, 2017 /CNW/ - On November 28, 2017, PEN Canada presents Codename Sally at Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema.
Codename Sally recounts PEN Canada's secret mission to spirit Salman Rushdie onto the stage of the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto after the pronouncement of a fatwa on his life, 25 years ago. Producer/writer Sturla Gunnarsson will join PEN Canada President Richard Stursberg, former Ontario Premier Bob Rae, Executive Publisher and Executive Vice-President of Penguin Random House Canada Louise Dennys, and writer Marian Botsford Fraser for a lively post-screening discussion on the positives and perils of freedom of expression, and the crafting of the film.
