TORONTO, June 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Lazy Sundays no more! This Sunday, June 23, people across the GTA will get off the couch to squat, kick and sweat with Toronto's toughest fitness experts to help give kidney cancer the boot. In Canada, kidney cancer is on the rise, and it's estimated that 5,900 Canadians will be diagnosed with kidney cancer and 1,750 will die from it in 2013.1
Kick It Up for Kidney Cancer Boot Camp, is a team-based four-hour boot camp to help Kidney Cancer Canada (KCC) raise awareness and funds to improve the lives of Canadians affected by the disease. To date, 80 per cent of the fundraising goal has been achieved and KCC is calling on all Torontonians to sign up or sponsor a team at kidneycancercanada.ca.
Six high-energy boot camp sessions will be led by Michael DeCorte of Jock Yoga, Eva Redpath, BCBD and Brent Bishop of Think Fitness. Teams will tag in one participant at a time throughout the four hour event.
