Evo Car Share expands borders and adds more cars for third time since launch
Fleet triples in size; adds City of North Vancouver, Metrotown, Capilano University, SFU and BCIT
VANCOUVER, June 1, 2016 /CNW/ - Evo Car Share, Vancouver's newest car sharing provider, announces it is adding even more cars and expanding its Home Zone for the third time since launching just over a year ago.
Evo has now tripled its fleet of 4-door, 5-passenger, Toyota Hybrid Priuses to 750 cars. New to Evo's Home Zone is the City of North Vancouver, with added pick-up and drop-off locations at Metrotown and three more student campuses: Capilano University, SFU and BCIT. The Evo Home Zone in North Vancouver extends from 24th Ave on the North side all the way South to the water, as far West as Forbes Ave and East to Ridgeway Avenue.
Launched last year and created by BCAA, Evo Car Share is Vancouver's only pick-up and drop-off anywhere service to offer a full fleet of hybrid vehicles, all with bike/ski racks and seats for five people. Tai Silvey, Evo Director, says Evo's popularity means that expansion plans are being accelerated to meet demand.
"It's a great feeling to expand again and be in communities where our Members and locals have been asking for us," says Silvey. "Because Evo Car Share is a local company, it's designed for life in B.C. and we're excited to offer Evo to more Lower Mainland residents and students who want to use Evo to get around town."
To celebrate its latest Home Zone expansion, Evo has a number of events planned:
North Vancouver Shipyards Night Market (Friday, June 3 from 5 pm – 10 pm)
Evo will host the much loved Shipyards Night Market. Visitors can get free Evo member registration and 45 minutes of drive time credit.
Back-to-School Campus Events (September)
When the school year begins in September, Evo will be at campus events at Capilano University, SFU and BCIT, to offer students free Membership and driving time credits.
Evo's fast-paced expansion now brings its Home Zone area in Vancouver south to 49th Avenue, west to UBC, east to Boundary Road and north into the City of North Vancouver. Satellite Home Zones where Members can pick-up and drop-off Evo cars are now at Grouse Mountain, Park'N Fly at YVR, Metrotown, SFU, BCIT and Capilano University.
