TORONTO, Sept. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - The Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP) and the Ontario Teachers' Federation (OTF) annually recognize three Ontario teachers with the OTIP Teaching Awards for excellence.
On Tuesday, September 24, the following received the OTIP Teaching Award:
Kerri Lyn Grainger, St. Columban Catholic School, Dublin - Beginning Teacher Category
Nancy Dye, Wexford Public School, Toronto - Elementary Teacher Category
Catarina Vindasius, East Elgin Secondary School, Aylmer - Secondary Teacher Category
"We believe that good teaching provides young people with the intellectual resources to count on as they set out to face life's challenges," stated Vic Medland, CEO of OTIP.
"We are so proud of these teachers; they are representative of the excellence of all teachers in publicly funded education" stated Julie Pauletig, President of OTF.
TFO presented the Prix TFO Multimédia à l'école to Martin Bouchard, École élémentaire catholique Alain-Fortin, Ottawa.
OTIP is a non-profit organization serving education employees and their families with reliable, affordable insurance and financial solutions.
The Ontario Teachers' Federation is the advocate for the teaching profession in Ontario and for its 160,000 teachers. OTF members are full-time, part-time and occasional teachers in all publicly-funded schools in the province - elementary, secondary, public, Catholic and francophone.
