Exclusions Award for BC Ferry & Marine Workers' Union and BC Ferry Services

VANCOUVER, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - In a ninety-one page award received this morning, September 9, 2010, Arbitrator Vince Ready has awarded exclusions in the following positions:

    
    -   All Masters - Large and Intermediate vessels

    -   Senior Chief Engineers - All vessels

    -   Chief Engineers - Large and Intermediate vessels

    -   Senior Chief and Chief Stewards
    

The Union is currently reviewing the award and will pursue all avenues of appeal.

Richard Goode, Provincial President stated, "We remain committed to continue the battle to protect the integrity of the Bargaining Unit by all legal means available to us. It is imperative that our members continue to perform their duties and allow the process to continue; the Union does not condone any job action."
