The tech company unveils a new lineup of Color Night Vision™ cameras in both digital IP and MPX variants.
MARKHAM, ON, July 10, 2018 /CNW/ - Lorex Technology, a global leader in home and small business video surveillance solutions, is proud to introduce a new lineup of its exclusive and best-selling Color Night Vision™ (CNV) cameras in both digital IP (internet protocol) and MPX (megapixels over coax) variants. Color Night Vision security cameras come in a wide variety of models and are also available as part of pre-assembled security camera systems.
What is Color Night Vision Technology?
Color Night Vision is an advanced night vision technology that is superior to traditional infrared (black and white) technology. Security cameras with CNV can record full-color footage in low-light conditions, provide additional visual details to help identify people or objects, and deliver better contrast in the footage for easier detection and recognition. These cameras use state-of-the-art back-illuminated image sensors that are more sensitive to light than front-illuminated sensors. This essentially allows them to continue seeing color in low-light conditions.
The company's exclusive Color Night Vision is a difference maker. The darkness of night provides a good cover for potential intrusions and theft. But with Color Night Vision, authorities can use critical information in the footage, such as the color of clothes or the color of a car.
Color Night Vision vs. Regular Night Vision
Up until now, security camera night vision video has always been in black and white. This is because security cameras have had to rely entirely on infrared lights to see at night. In general, night vision security cameras are fitted with high-powered LEDs that flood the scene in front of the camera with infrared light. This type of light, however, falls outside of the visible light portion of the electromagnetic spectrum where colors can be seen. So the sensor of the security camera does not actually detect visible light. It instead measures the light intensity, which is why night vision is seen as black and white.
Like standard night vision security cameras, Color Night Vision cameras also come equipped with high-powered LEDs that flood the scene in front of the camera with infrared light. This not only helps with the clarity of the Color Night Vision, but will also be utilized should lighting conditions drop too low for Color Night Vision. This ensures that regardless of the amount of light, Color Night Vision security cameras will always be recording high quality night vision.
Digital IP and MPX PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) Cameras with Color Night Vision
The company is proud to introduce two new Color Night Vision PTZ security cameras with long range CNV. The IP version is capable of recording 2K (4MP) video and has 12x optical zoom, while the MPX is capable of full 1080p HD video and has an incredible 25x optical zoom capability. Ideal for office buildings, warehouses, small businesses, or even large residential properties, PTZ cameras such as these can take the place of many fixed lens security cameras and can be programmed with customized tours. When night falls, these cameras will automatically utilize the company's revolutionary Color Night Vision technology. In fact, their high-powered infrared LEDs enable them to see up to 300ft away at night with the help of ambient lighting.
Nocturnal Cameras with Color Night Vision
The company's new line of 4K IP Nocturnal cameras can also record full-color video at night. Dressed entirely in black metal exteriors that make them difficult to spot at night, these security cameras have especially long-range color night vision capabilities. There is a total of five Nocturnal models, including both bullet and dome styles, with select models even including listen-in audio and motorized zoom lenses.
Digital Noise Reduction
Another unique feature of Color Night Vision cameras is that they use Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) technology to filter out noise from low-light settings and noise caused by motion. DNR eliminates graininess and delivers a cleaner, more accurate image with better clarity, and improved motion detection. On top of this, DNR also reduces file sizes.
"Technology is rapidly changing. As a leading provider of video security solutions, we want to deliver reliable, adaptive, and advanced products equipped with cutting-edge technologies that are valuable to our customers," said Sufi Sulaiman, Vice President of Digital and Commerce of Lorex Technology. "The introduction of our exclusive Color Night Vision technology to our select cameras is our response to the rapidly changing landscape of video surveillance."
