Experience Canada150 at Black Creek Pioneer Village
TORONTO, June 28, 2017 /CNW/ - In just days, Canada turns 150 years young and Black Creek Pioneer Village is the best place to celebrate. With a host of activities in tune with the Canada of the 1860's, the Village is the place to experience the ultimate in authenticity for this important historical moment in time.
Thanks in part to the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario's ONTARIO 150 program, the Village is pulling out all the stops for the entire Canada Day weekend and everyone is welcome. Admission is free for everyone July the first and still free for children July second and third.
There's a startling array of thrilling activities – with a 19th century flavour that are sure to delight you and your family. Performers will juggle fire, strong men will attempt daring feats of strength, magicians will amaze you and carnival games and theatrical performances will leave you dazzled and breathless.
Come discover what was hot and what was not in the 1860's or uncover the past with Toronto and Region Conservation's Archaeology team at an on-site dig at the Village. Take in a hilarious performance about Canada's Confederation, then have a slice of Canada's 150th birthday cake as you witness 40 new Canadians receive their citizenship. It's certainly a touching experience.
