MONTREAL, Sept. 13 /CNW/ - As the Canada hosts the World Energy Congress beginning Sunday in Montreal, the opportunities presented by clean technology will be high on the agenda. Dr. Vicky Sharpe, the President and CEO of Sustainable Development Technology Canada - Canada's leading funder of new clean technologies - will be onsite and available to comment on the advances and impacts of clean technology in Canada and beyond.
Clean technologies contribute to the economy both domestically and internationally, increasing productivity and competitiveness of industry while simultaneously reducing environmental impact. The global environment industry is worth $4 trillion and is forecast to grow by 45% over the next eight years, and Canada can position itself to be a provider of green technology solutions to the world.
