EY named one of the Best Workplaces in Canada overall and Best Workplaces for Women by Great Place to Work® Français
Firm recognized for culture of teaming, flexibility and growth
TORONTO, April 28, 2016 /CNW/ - EY was named one of the Best Workplaces in Canada again in 2016 by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The firm is very proud to also be recognized as one of the 50 Best Workplaces in Canada for Women.
"We're so proud of these awards," says Stephen Shea, EY's Canadian Managing Partner, Talent. "They recognize the efforts of all our people who strive daily to make our workplace better, and they speak volumes about the exceptional EY experience we strive to create for all our people across the country."
Recognized for its strong culture of teaming, flexibility, people leadership, learning opportunities and growth avenues, the awards are a reflection of EY's purpose of "Building a better working world."
"Our purpose is something that unites our global organization and helps our firm focus our goals, drive our strategy and engage our people," says Shea. "A big part of that is that we're always looking at how we can offer our people a better place to work. We empower them to work smart and efficiently, while providing them flexibility to manage their careers with the wider aspects of their lives."
When it comes to women, inclusiveness underpins EY's culture. In fact, the firm has called on organizations around the globe to do more to accelerate progress on closing the gender parity gap. Its Women. Fast forward. program encourages more supportive environments for women to succeed so that, in turn, companies and economies can achieve greater economic returns.
Women at EY have excellent role models, too. Last year, more than 50% of EY's newly promoted partners in Canada were women, and three of the firm's partners – Fiona Macfarlane, Elise Rees and Colleen McMorrow – were named among the Women's Executive Network (WXN) 2015 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners.
"At the end of the day, better workplaces help attract and retain better people, and generate better results," says Shea. "That's something we can all get on board with."
